Unfortunate Event

On February 8, 2007

Our truck is hanging and 34' trailer turn on it's side when a sudden sway went out of control at 12.00 noon. All this happen in 5 minutes.

The base of the trailer was twister in the process.

It is a miracle the truck stayed upright and no one was hurt physically.

The police arrived and our stuffs got scatterd all over.

They have to use another tow truck to separate the pick-up and trailer. The stinger was twisted an quarter turn, clockwise.

Two tow trucks were needed to upright the 34' trailer. The sounds that came from the inside trailer makes my heartache.

Finally at 3.30pm the trailer is up right.

Bowers had to tow the trailer very slowly so it doesn't fall apart while moving of the freeway into a small street and was transfered to a white tow truck.

At 3.30p.m we follow the tow truck to their storage area. To my dismay, it starts raining and did not stop for over a week.

In Bowers storage area, the trailer is stored in a fenced open space. This is the kitchen and my art and craft area that sustain the most damage. All the cabinets destroy and a huge bag of bread flour spread all over the inside of this area. My poor hydroponic plants didn't know what struck them. All the expandable clay that I use as my hydroponic medium are every where. The trailer has to be tie with a strip so it doesn't fall apart while moving.

This area was the place where I make all my creations. I never imagine that it would end up being destroy. We spend a lot of hours making the furniture from cedar. My dream studio crash! All my pyrex cooking ware were broken except for 3 baking dishes with lid.

90% of my art and craft stuff destroyed in the accident, from the exposure to continuos rain and got soak with grey water and some black water as we did not empty our holding tanks. This used to be the storage are under the dinning bench. It would be a pain to recollect all my DVD's again.

The slide out is slanted and the bed on the end is up rooted from its place. I stored my art and craft in the storage under the bed. It looks like a series of bad luck for me this year. All the places I chose for my art and craft are destroyed. However the swaps I received was store under the sofa bed was intact. Thank goodness for that.

This is where it all happen.

A permenant memorbilia that The 34' Mallard was here.

It looks like this site where we had the accident has claim two life. I am glad we face no physical. However we are still recovering emotionally from what had happen.
